Welcome to the online home of Hampden, North Dakota. Hampden is located in the Northeastern part of North Dakota [see Google map]. Hampden celebrated its centennial in 2004, though the town of Northfield, which was the original name of Hampden for a short while, was founded in 1903. Hampden has about 52 residents, with a number of businesses that include a cafe, grocery story, bar, service station, grain elevator, implement dealer, and post office.
On this site, you’ll find links, information, the latest news, and history about the town of Hampden.
The previous Internet presence for Hampden was back in 2004, during its centennial. You can still visit that web site as it was originally seen, here. The site in itself is a bit of history, revealing all of the activities, events, and participants of the centennial.
Our goal in making sure that Hampden has a web site is because most of the people who have lived or are connected to Hampden have moved away. Yet, quite often, emails or other expressed interest indicated that even though the centennial was over, people still wanted to stay in touch with what was going on back home.
Now you can.
